Had an unplannedly planned holiday with Ranger Meow last week.
The holiday was planned for quite a few months ago, but it wasn't really planned well since to be very honest I didn't want to have this holiday at first--I was extremely pissed off for quite a while. But as time went by I got so excited that I started to make a lot of plans. Weird me.
I did make a few itinerary sets which I stupidly didn't dare to show because of unnecessary embarrassment--what the hell?--but the holiday went well.
Trust me.
In fact, I was super grateful because it was my luckiest holiday ever; because way too many good things happened during the holiday! More explanation below ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓
It was raining almost daily every evening here on January so I was prepared for the worst. Some huge plans including catching for sunrise and walking around the tourist spot were feared to be cancelled due to the horrible weather here.
But on the holiday, it was greatly sunny during the day and just slightly rain at night, made things went smoothly!
Happy die me!
It was raining only on the last night of the holiday probably because I was too sad the holiday was over. Lol.
So, here are some highlights of my first holiday of this year and a super lucky one:
Catching sunrise
My biggest regret is that I never took my powerful yellow camera with me (it is left alone in Jakarta omg!) so I didn't took awesome sky pics as I should have been able to.
Ranger Meow and me left city at three in the morning (almost one hour late from our planned time: 2+AM) because I was a bit overslept. We then left the hotel and drove to the north-west, to Borobudur to catch sunrise.
It was my first experience (I think?) to drive inter-city at such hour and I was exhausted since I was overslept; so I drove super slowly. Like around 30 to 40 KM/H.
Ranger Meow boy kept on nagging at me that we might late catching the sunrise and he insisted to take over the drive seat. I refused at first because I wanted to have another achievement to drive far in the darkness at midnight (siao liao how jiao ao I am?) but I was also struggling to stay alert on the super dark road and also to catch up with the sunrise.
I couldn't tahan it after a few KMs so we changed seat; and he stepped on the pedal just nicely anddddddd we reached in less than an hour.
Hahaha. I was extremely ashamed. But it didn't last even a minute; I mean my embarassment.
We reached just a few minutes before 4AM. I lowered the car window and looked at the sky: and oh my goodness! You wouldn't believe what kind of sky I saw on that day!
It wasn't like those night sky pics with river of stars, but it was definitely superrrrr starry! I found my favourite kite sky and I thought I noticed one or two planets which are supposed to be visible these few days!
I felt superrrrr happy that I shouted things out loud so many times on the car window while Ranger Meow was looking for the parking spot: "look at those pretty stars! Look! Look! Soooooo pretty! I like! Look! Look! Mitai! Mitai! Look! Look! Happy die me!".
I sound super norak? I won't apologise.
Late night driving out always makes me happy. One of the best late night driving out I had was in Singapore on my first time going there, after a midnight movie Ranger Meow treated me--which now I realise it probably is more than late night driving out who makes me so happy.
The stars, the yellow road lamps, the creep and the quietness. And this Ranger Meow boy.
Call me corny now. I cannot say any of these words verbally. You will only find me corny here in this blog and nowhere else. Lol.
Reached the hotel inside Borobudur to purchase the sunrise tickets we were super kancheong because it was foreigners all around us.
You know how that feels to be surrounded by foreigners?
But eventually I managed to talk bravely to the people selling the tickets and was able to get both of us two nice sunrise tickets.
Then we got ourselves a pair of flashlights and then we got to find our way to the top of the temple. To secure a spot to catch the sunrise.
Getting into the top of Borobudur to watch sunrise is tricky. Only one hotel inside Borobudur sells the tickets (it is called Manohara Hotel) and nowhere else sells the tickets. So people better do lots of researches before going there or it all would go to a waste.
The road up high there was not too far, but it was high. I got to be extremely careful as I had myself my own bag, flashlight, camera, map and I don't know any stuff I had on my hands. I also have this huge trauma with falling down on stairs so climbing stairs scares me so much.
To catch sunrise we need to climb to the top of Borobudur temple. It was dark but the path was easy to recognise. Our visit was on Friday since I thought I would avoid weekend and surprisingly there were so many tourists had the same thought as me.
Ginny--my camera--was not able to take any pics in darkness so regretfully I have ZERO pics before sunrise. Ranger Meow took so many awesome pics before sunrise though but since I lacked of technology I could only regret it inside me D:

This is the best starry sky pic I could took. How sad?!
![]()
The hotel area. It was nice! Five-star hotel I assume?
![]()
And the path to the top of the temple. So dark and exciting?! (I have this attraction with dark, mysterious and horror things okays)
![]()
Introduction monument which I didn't usually bother to read. I am that type of person.
We then climbed up slowly since we went pass by a few checkpoints by real policemen. The security was really tight and surprisingly it made me super calm!
During our way up slowly, a chinese girl approached me (it seemed so? I couldn't see anything in the darkness okay) and asked me: 你是中国人吗? I was very surprised since I think this is the first time people really asked me that question; talking about the irony, lol. Holding the domestic ticket in my hand, I answered: 不是,我住在这里。 And she smiled at me, nodded (it seemed so) and I waved back and quickly resumed to my focus to climb safely.
![]()
It was real dark, but as sunrise was approaching, we all tried to secure the best spot to watch it well.
![]()
As the sunrise approaching, I thought I could sit back and relax and watch it. But I couldn't. I walked around so often that I even annoyed myself. Hahah.
![]()
The sunrise wasn't too pretty because there was way too much clouds on that morning. With green tourist boy hand appearance.
![]()
Decided to switch on the HRD ART effect on Ginny and the results are awesomeeeee!
![]()
Compared with this normal HD mode, which one is better?
![]()
Pretty sunbeams touched this green tourist boy hand, which appeared again on my pic.
![]()
If you look at it longer and longer, you'll feel the magic of Borobudur.
This is my third visit here but this last one was the most magical to me. I felt so pure up there; yeah I admit I am a sinner.
![]()
You see how gorgeous it is for the sunlight full of Vitamin D touching all of us, and the holy temples. Giving us nutritions and happiness.
![]()
The view from the other side of me--so happy to see all these tourists enjoy the view. The angmo girl was even absorbing the purity around her. So magical!
Culture immersing
First, we went to the largest buddhist temple from a few thousand years ago, Borobudur.
![]()
Looking around the temple, I shall say that the top of Borobudur temple is truly holy!
I am reminded with the peace and pureness inside me. It felt like I was reborn. I am saying this because it was what I really felt up there! So weird yet so nice.
![]()
Morning sky!
![]()
You can slightly see the moon there, it was awesome.
![]()
And I decided to get to know the green tourist boy whose hand kept on appearing in lots of pics I took; we decided to take a pic with the top of the temple together. For his privacy of his handsome face, I decided to put fat rabbit head over his face.
![]()
Is this appropriate? Did this fun pose at the top of the temple. I felt so pure and happy.
![]()
And the sitting statue facing, erm, north if I am not mistaken? With the black tourist uncle taking his pic.
![]()
Spotted the moon again!
![]()
Black tourist uncle took a pic of the stairs.
We met a group of random students trying to ask us for help. Or that's what we thought.
But they started talking random to us that it felt like they were doing an assignment called "talking to tourists" so it was kind of funny.
But then this conversation happened:
Student: "Where are you from?"
Me: "I am from... (hesitated) here?"
Student: "Oh (laughing) I thought you are foreigner?"
Me: "Huh? Really? How?"
Student: "Yes yes I thought you are Japanese."
Me: *nosebleed*"Omg I am so happy hahah thank you."
She validated me as Konayachi the Japanese girl. Hahahahahahahahahahah.
But seriously, this is the ~ time my nationality is questioned. People wonder whether I am either: Japanese, Korean or Chinese. Ironically, they guess me as Chinese the least compared by they guess me as Japanese or Korean.
Super ironic please!
Should I actually turn back time and try to cast in some Japanese movies or Korean dramas? No, I am serious here. Lol.
![]()
And the stairs crept me. Told you I am scared of stairs.
![]()
But the view up there is unbeatable! It was so amazing.
![]()
It was worth it staying up whole night for this.
![]()
And please tell me what you think, if this magnificent gate was made thousand of years ago by only hands?! Awesome!
Not the metal bar, surely.
![]()
Look at all those complex sculptures, so amazing! And fascinated green tourist boy.
![]()
All of those were made by hands, how awesome were they?
![]()
This huge and beautiful temple is really amazing. How many times have I written amazing?
![]()
And my favourite blue and green compositions.
![]()
Because they are so nice to see, comfort your eyes.
![]()
Full view of Borobudur temple, which is amazing.
![]()
And further view of the temple. Looks so nice!
![]()
Spent IDR 540,000 in total to enter the temple before the dawn. We also got complimentary snacks and souvenirs.
![]()
Then, the second temple we went was Hindu temple Prambanan.
![]()
Price is like nine times cheaper than Borobudur. But it was to be expected.
![]()
The entrance was vast and green, so nice to see!
![]()
Big signs everywhere makes tourists easier to explore.
![]()
Switch HDR ART mode on and~ see the majestic Prambanan temple!
![]()
The pretty walk-in entrance!
![]()
And how would you describe that mysterious cloud hanging so low above us?
![]()
Really, really we all got to treasure these temples. All these was built very traditionally thousand of years ago and these kind of temples are very underrated.
People need to gain more awareness to preserve these historical site more, and don't do commercial things on it. Which I mean, don't take profit illegally.
We all need to preserve all historical sites in the world, since all these are awesome. I don't know, when I touched all these temples, I could feel that these temples have souls.
![]()
Really amazing, how do you make all these beautiful sculptures with limited technology in the past?
![]()
And all of it were built gorgeously.
Andddddd that's it. My Ginny died on me because I forgot to charge her. And the rest pics were non-existent. Sads.
Oh, Ranger Meow should took it all, including a group of extremely cute deers that were taken care of thereeeeeee omg they were all super cute and tame!
*faint*
Eat eat and eat
Sadly, I didn't take many pics in foods because I normally take pic with HP; but since HP camera is spoilt since I upgraded to Lollipop so I now only take pic with Ginny.
And since Ginny had no battery, therefore only a bunch of nice food pics were taken.
![]()
Local foodies!
This restaurant is placed just right on the opposite of my high school so I know this restaurant really well. But ironically this was my first time going in.
The food was nice and affordable, and what made me the happiest is the coconut ice! SUPERRRRRR HUGE!
![]()

Sushi tei after catching sunrise!
I was feeling super unwell after whole night and morning catching sunrise so I had almost zero appetite here.
Also, I was not really convinced but was my seafood allergy returned?!
I had horrible rashes on both of my legs and those were extremely itchy like half a day after I ate these yummy seafood wtf.. I wonder was it because of the tako legs I ate?
Anyway, it was not a big deal. Only some ugliness on my legs. It will be gone in a few days.
![]()
Huge iscream crepe Ranger Meow craved. This was the only pic I took with HDR ART mode switched on. I wanted to take the pic with normal mode but Ginny wouldn't want to start--that I literally screamed inside the mall seeing my Ginny said "Battery is low" and died on me. Lol.
![]()
And nice sunset we caught from a shitty iscream restaurant.
Swim and swim
Worse, zero pic here because none of my gadgets are water-proof and I didn't want the risk to lose them.
We went swimming for two days straight; and since we went swimming at night after we finished all things we wanted to do (shopping and eating) so it was at the most exhausted time that we went swimming.
Me, especially, turned moody when I was very tired. Went swimming really relaxed my body since I super love swimming. And the best thing is that the water was super warm! Happy die me!
There was a fun Jacuzzi in the corner of the pool so we played there for a while. I love Jacuzzi! I love swimming pool! I love bubbles! I love bouncy things!
Hahah it became weirder and weirder. So I'll stop.
But seriously, that we went swimming twice made me superrrrr happy!

And here are some highlights why I keep mentioning it being super lucky:
Sunny days
The first three week of January were filled with rains. And just nice, on the week of our planned holiday, it was nicely sunny! Only the last night rain came to us and probably it was because I was sad that the holiday was over? Hahah. Sky truly blessed Ranger Meow and our holiday lah!
Never got lost
We were 99% able to find the way without GPS. Thanks to me knowing the route around here well and although I took some of the worst routes possible (the furthest, or the hardest) but we managed to reach all destinations safely and soundly.
Last and the hugest; I was invited for a four-week session of training!
It might not be related, but it is a nice thought to think that Ranger Meow holiday and me finally received the important call that invited me to join a four-week session of training in an IT Entertainment Company is related. Seriously, I couldn't stop thinking that this Ranger Meow boy brought me so much luck that I literally started my training days only one day after the holiday is over.
So really, really, although I never say this out loud, inside my heart and my prayers I feel really, really, really grateful for all of these things that I have.
Seriously, cannot stop thinking about this.
I feel so lucky, I feel extremely blessed and I cannot say thank you enough to everyone who is very kind to me.
I am glad that I enjoyed my first holiday this year--and also having so much luck from it as well. I might complain a lot, but I will do lesser in the future, because I just realised how amazingly blessed I am in my life!
I will make sure to tell everyone that we will all be happy, as happy as I am to know that I am very blessed back then, now and far in the future!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
And for Ranger Meow, although you never read this (and you'll probably be annoyed by me saying all these things) you are one of my super awesome best friend, brother and rabu-rabu I ever meet! I'll make sure we gonna enjoy so much more things in the future.
Thank you, again! Woof and meow!
Lots of love ♥
